20s-30s Fellowship Halloween "Craft" Night

Halloween is for "crafts"! The 20's-30's fellowship will meet at Trinity at 6 PM on Sunday, October 29th for Halloween "Craft" Night. Bring your favorite craft beverage - beer, root beer, ginger ale, etc. - and we will share pizza around the fire pit and in Pierce-Bishop Hall. We'll have some pumpkins to carve if you want to participate.

A Litany for the Restoration of Peace in the Holy Land

God of peace, we pray for the people of Palestine and Israel in these perilous and  dangerous times.

For all who are fearful for the safety of their loved ones and themselves, we pray that  the assurance of unfailing love, even in the midst of danger, settles upon them. Shelter  them from despair and protect them from harm.

For all who are wounded, we pray they find healing.

For all who have died, we pray they find rest.

For all who grieve, we pray they find comfort.

For leaders on all sides, we pray for a renewed will to lay down arms, for the strength to  put the grievances and wrongs suffered by their people to rest, and for the conviction to  embrace a path of reconciliation and peace that preserves the rights and dignity of all of  your children.

God of mercy, help us to remember there is no border that can separate us from your  great love and protection, no stone that can sound the well of your deep mercy.

God of justice, we pray with hopeful hearts that your beloved children of the Holy Land  will be spared a future of sustained violence and unrest and that a recognition of the  humanity of all people will prevail.

We ask all this in the name of your Son, Jesus. Amen.

Pipes at One: Meg Harper Performance

On October 17, at 1pm, our very own Margaret Harper has an organ recital at Trinity Wall Street in St. Paul’s Chapel as part of their series Pipes at One. She has been hailed by the Diapason magazine for her “elegant performance” and by the Boston Musical Intelligencer for “outstandingly lively, punchy” playing. In response to one of her international performances, Croatian newspaper Glas Slavonije wrote, “The freezing cold of a January evening dominated the cathedral in Djakovo, but it could not diminish the richness and warmth of sound brought out of the cathedral organ by Margaret Harper.” This will be a recital you do not want to miss.

Note from David Schneider

Well, sometimes you just need to write a note!

Yesterday we had our monthly Vestry meeting and, in addition to the various business items, we discussed how fortunate we all felt to be part of Trinity Church!  There is so much positive momentum at the church, and we are all excited about what this year will bring us!

For those of you at kick-off Sunday, I am sure you agree that it was just the right way to start our year.  A fabulous sermon (thank you Dr. Walton!) a celebratory picnic and a warm welcome for the new members of the Trinity team.  I would like to add my welcome to Meg and Wesley.  They are both amazing additions to an already stellar team.

And, we have so much to look forward to over the next few months as we move through the church year.  From All Saints Sunday to Advent to Easter; the calendar is full.  Plus there are so many ways to get involved and be part of the church beyond Sunday service  – Rummage, Turkey Trot, St Nicks – just to name a few!

We are also blessed to have Trudy Sykes and Bill Hackett leading our Stewardship Campaign for 2024.  More to follow soon, but please do prayerfully consider how you can support Trinity; in Time, in treasure and in talent.

The entire vestry is available at anytime if you have any thoughts, concerns or ideas.  I can be reached at david.c.schneider@outlook.com.

Finally, I want to thank Fr. Paul for his leadership.  The past few years have not been easy at all.  Suffice it to say – it has been a lot.  And Paul has handled it all with Love, Kindness and Confidence.  We are all blessed to have his leadership at Trinity.

Trinity is a very special place where we can worship, love and pray with one another. I thank you all for the opportunity to serve Trinity.   – it is an honor.

In Peace,

David
